Phyllis Helen Sawyer (nee Cartwright)
March 3, 1935 to April 17, 2010
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Phyllis Sawyer after a courageous battle against cancer. She is survived by her partner, Herman (Henry) Beans, son Dave Sawyer Sr., sister Jane Ross and numerous step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Phyllis was a strong, caring woman with a huge heart who was dedicated to her family, very involved in the community and volunteered her time to many causes and events. She had an open door policy for everyone and there was “always coffee on”. She will be missed by all who knew her. A funeral service was held in Alert Bay on Wednesday, April 21st
