Peterson, Sally—nee Tanner, passed away peacefully in the Comorant Island Health Centre on May 3rd, 2010. Sally was born in Sointula on Oct. 26th, 1907. Predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Charlie, in 1990 and by her son Raymond in 2002. She will be missed by her granddaughter Denise; grandson Chris (Marlene); mother-in-law June; great grandchildren: Charlie, Rhett, Jill June,
Blake and Amber and her great-great grandsons
Kai and West.
A kind and gentle woman, Sally drew upon her Finnish sisu throughout her long life as she fished with Charlie, worked in logging camps, loving and caring for her family. “Nana” always had time for berry picking, beachcombing, crabbing and the other pleasures of island life.
Heartfelt thanks to the staff in Alert Bay who lovingly cared for her in her final years.
