It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Simone was born in Bordeaux, France and lived there until 1957. She then immigrated to Vancouver, Canada along with her husband Paul and three daughters.
Predeceased by her brothers Felix and Andre and her husband Paul, she is survived by her three daughters, Eliane (Dale) Fraser, Anita (Ron - deceased) Tupper, Chantal (Bob) Charlie. Five grandchildren, Karen, nee Tupper (Angelos) Xylinas, Paul (Deana) Tupper, Scott Fraser, Kevin Charlie and Nicole Charlie. Thirteen great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Anthony and Sophia Xylinas, Sydney and Sarah Tupper, Monique and Lincoln Fraser, Drew, Holden and Kiahna Charlie, and Nicole's children Kai, Logan and Noah Jensen.
Simone is also survived by her sister Gisele Beesley of Bordeaux , France, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family moved to Coal Harbour in 1958 and lived there until 2008 when Simone moved to Discovery Harbour Care Centre in Campbell River suffering from Dementia and stayed there until her death.
Simone was an energetic, hard-working, dependable person, an accomplished knitter, an avid gardener, belonged to the Bowling club, Women's Auxiliary, Community Club and she was very involved with any fund-raising event, and loved participating in bake sales.
She was the Coal Harbour Post Mistress for many years and later enjoyed her work at the Coal Harbour General Store. She deeply cared and loved her family. We will cherish the memory of her fun loving nature, boosterish laugh and witty personality.
Special thanks goes out to the great attentive staff of the Discovery Harbour Care Centre. Due to Covid 19, there will be no memorial.
