Tom passed away suddenly in Victoria on Wednesday, January 16, 2008. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife Margaret, his six children Lynne (Mike), Barbara (Mike), David (Kimberly), Robert (Mariea), Mark (Nadine), and Karen (Nick). He also leaves to mourn his passing twelve grand-children and four great grandchildren. Tom spent his early years proudly serving our country as a member of the Queens Own Rifles. He later moved to Port Alice where he became a familiar face in the Port Alice mill before he retired. One of Tom’s favorite pastimes was to greet his friends and neighbours during his walks around the small community he chose to call his home. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Jeneece’s Variety Club.

A graveside eulogy for friends and family will be held at Yates Funeral Services, 1000 Allsbrook Rd. in Parksville on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at 687 Tamarack Dr. Qualicum.

For those unable to attend the Parksville service, a memorial will be held in Port Alice and will be announced on channel 10 once a date has been chosen.
