Biggar, Viola Dorothy, born RYLL, on October 8, 1919 in Kitchener Ontario. “Vi” passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 14, 2003. Vi is predeceased by her daughter Bonnie Lee, and by her husband of 55 years, Aylmer.
She is survived by her children. Linda O’Hara & Terence Tilton of Penticton BC, Judy & Rick Vallance of Ft. McMurray Alta., Rick Biggar of Langley BC, and Merry-Anne & Mitch Flanagan of Black Creek. Vi was Gramma to 13 grandchildren: Myra, Sean, Korey, Media, Dennis, Elizabeth, Amanda, Richard, Erin, Clint and Aidan. Great grandchildren are Raylene & Leighton, and Courtenay, Emma & Michael. Vi came to Port Hardy in the early 50’s with 4 small children. Al had a job with a logging company but eventually went to work for the D.O.T. Together raised their family ‘on the airport’. Vi spent the last 12 years in Penticton BC. Vi’s family would like to express sincere Thanks to all of the staff , nurses and doctors who took care of Mom to the last, and Trinity Care Centre in Penticton. A memorial for Vi will be held in Port Hardy in summer ‘04, pending gathering of the clan.
