Brown, Virgil Neal passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox on May 23, 2003 aged 84. He is survived by Evelyn, his loving wife of 57 years, children Luanne (Thomas) Elizabeth (Myron), Neal (Carol) and dear friend Nancy Luce. Grandchildren Kate, Nora, Michael, Ryan, Simeon, Natalie, Jaime, Samual, Wesley. Foster daughters Eve, Edna (Ken). Foster grandchildren Eric, Luanne, Joseph, Neal and four foster great grandchildren. Siblings: Nedra, Alyce, Pearl, John, Marvin, Glen and many nieces and nephews. Virgil served in the US Armed forces in WWII as a field commissioned first lieutenant. He worked as a psychiatric social worker (N.S.W.) for 54 years. He loved reading the Bible, gardening, and browsing junk sales. A celebration of his remarkable spirit will be held June 7 at Church of ST. John the Divine, 579 5th Street, Courtenay; 3p.m.
