Born in O’Brien Bay on November 14, 1929 Yvonne passed away November 6, 2006 in Port McNeill Hospital, after a lengthy struggle with emphysema. Yvonne leaves behind Bill, her husband of 49 years; daughters Patty Proctor (Rick) and Joanie Hoddinott (Brian); as well as grandsons, Glen Hoddinott (Brittany) and Derek Hoddinott (Krystal). She also leaves her sister, Margaret Brown; nephews David (Lee), Michael (Katrina); nieces Sharon, Lorraine (Don), Suzy and Jackie (Richard) and her beloved dog Goldie.
Yvonne will always be remembered for her wit and dry humor; her love for dogs, horses, and a good western pocket book. She was never happier as when she was in her berry patch picking berries and everyone enjoyed her jams and jellies. There was no one that could make butter tarts or pies like Mom!
She was born and raised and lived most of her life in the vicinity of Echo Bay. She was a true mainlander in every sense of the word and will be missed greatly by friends and family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Dec. 9/06 at 11:00 AM at the Port McNeill Lions Hall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
