New manager of recreation and community services announced for Port Hardy

Naomi Heith has been appointed as the new Manager of Recreation and Community Services for the District of Port Hardy.

The district issued a news release on April 24 stating that Heith brings to the table “a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted passion for community engagement and recreation,” as well as a “dynamic vision and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents throughout the district.”

Heith began working for the district while serving as the Community Outreach Coordinator, where she demonstrated “exceptional leadership and a genuine dedication to fostering connections within the community,” stated the release, which then noted that Heith has a “profound understanding of the district’s diverse needs and solid commitment to serving its residents make her an invaluable asset to our team.”

Raised in Port Hardy, Heith “possesses an intimate understanding of the unique recreational opportunities and challenges facing our district. Her connection to the community, coupled with her professional expertise, positions her perfectly to lead our Recreation and Community Services department into a new era of growth and innovation.”

As for Heith’s vision for the future of District Recreation Services, the release noted it includes an array of “exciting initiatives to promote health, wellness, and community engagement. Under her leadership, residents can expect an expanded roster of events, enhanced quarterly guides featuring diverse programming for all ages, and increased outreach efforts to ensure our recreational offerings are accessible to all community members.”

“Beyond her professional qualifications, Naomi is known for her exceptional energy, positive attitude, and organizational skills, which will be instrumental in driving the district’s recreational agenda forward,” added the release. “Her strong relationships with community members and stakeholders further underscore her ability to bring people together and create positive change.”
