In what was a testament to unity and unwavering spirit, the U15 Tri-Port Wild girls hockey team became playoff champions in Campbell River the previous weekend.

In the semi-final game, the Wild managed to gain the lead early and won 8-4 over Nanaimo. With the win secured, they were awarded a spot in the final against the Campbell River Hurricanes.

In the final, their relentless resolve and teamwork propelled them to 10-9 victory, edging out the Hurricanes in overtime. Goals were scored by Scarlett Sawyer, Mya Hunt, Kilynn Wilson, Skylar Mintz, and Ava Santin, with assists by Liv Humphrey, Rylan Allen, Sophia Von Shilling, and the goal scorers. There was also excellent playing and strong checking by Presley Fjeld, Teagan Fraser, and Tessa Russell which contributed to the win.

The victory was a true team effort, and the Wild will be competing in a tournament in Richmond at the end of March to end their season.
