Over the family day long weekend, the U15 Tri-Port Wild female recreation hockey team competed in the Powell River Queen’s cup Tournament and came back home with gold.

After the round robin with the record of one win and two ties, the Wild was ready to go for their semi-final game against Vancouver C3.

The Wild took the win with a 6-0 score, securing the place in the finals. The team then met up with Powell River in the final, as the two teams had tied during round robin play.

The Wild played a great all-around game. Defensively, they held tight and allowed only a few shots on net.

The team also played well offensively, and they ended up winning gold with a 5-0 score over Powell River.

Team Captain Madelyn Tolmie received the Queen’s cup from an RCMP officer during the red carpet on ice ceremony immediately following the game.
