Canadian Navigable Waters Act - BHP Canada Inc.

BHP Canada Inc. hereby gives notice that a submission has been added to the Common Project Search (online registry at http://cps.canada.ca/ ) pursuant to the Canadian Navigable Waters Act described herein and its description.

Pursuant to paragraph 4.1 and 9.1 of the said Act, BHP has deposited with the Minister of Transport, on the on-line Common Project Search Registry (http://cps.canada.ca/) and under registry number 10460, a description of the following work:

Upgrade and installation of a buttress (rock fill placed to improve slope stability) to the existing Causeway Exfiltration Berm (CEB) at the closed BHP Island Copper Mine site. The works are expected to occur from June 18 – July 1 2024, at the junction of the Flood Channel and the Island Copper Mine Site’s Pit Lake (50.593710 N, 127.479670 W).
