NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

An application has been made by Frosst Development Corp. to amend the Official Community Plan from the designation of Commercial to Residential with respect to 8950 Granville St. from Duplex Residential (R-2) to Multiple Unit Residential (RM-2).

Pursuant to the Local Government Act, the District of Port Hardy hereby gives notice of a Public Hearing to be held on Thursday, July 6th, 2023, at 5:00 pm in the District of Port Hardy Council Chambers located at 7360 Columbia St. Port Hardy, BC and online via Microsoft Teams to seek public input in on the following:

i. Bylaw No. 1163-2023, a bylaw to amend the District of Port Hardy Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 15-2011 Map 1 Land-Use of Appendix A – Mapping, is amended by changing the land use designation of the 0.6 ha northerly section of the land legally described as:

Lot A, Plan VIP36594, Section 36, Township 9, Rupert Land District, Except Plan VIP66723 (PID 000-260-240) Civic address 8950 Granville Street from Commercial to Residential as shown in the image.

ii. Bylaw No. 1164-2023, a bylaw to amend the District of Port Hardy Zoning Bylaw No. 1010-2013 Zoning Map – West Schedule A is amended by changing the applicable zone of the 0.6 ha northerly section of the land legally described as:

Lot A, Plan VIP36594, Section 36, Township 9, Rupert Land District, Except Plan VIP66723 (PID 000-260-240) Civic address 8950 Granville Street from R-2 Duplex Residential to RM-1 Multiple Unit Residential as shown in the image.

Bylaw No. 1163-2023, 1164-2023, the application and all relevant documents may be inspected at the District of Port Hardy Municipal Office, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm excluding statutory holidays, to 4:30 pm Thursday July 6th, 2023. Documents are also available on the District website at www.porthardy.ca.

Anyone who believes that proposed District of Port Hardy Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 1163-2023 and/or Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 1164-2023 will affect their interests are invited to attend the Council meeting or online Via Microsoft Teams. Written submissions are also invited in advance of the Council meeting at the above-noted time. If you are unable to attend the Council meeting electronically, written comments may be mailed, emailed or hand-delivered to the District of Port Hardy by 4:00 pm Thursday, July 6th, 2023.

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Local Government Act, all submissions (verbal and written) regarding this matter must include the name and address of the individual making the submission. Information received will form part of the public record.
