Aunty Jo passed peacefully on

August 5, 2010 in Parksville B.C.

Survived by nephews & nieces Lorne Brown (Shawn), Greg Brown (Tanya), Cheryl Courtland, Stanley Didriksen, Nora Mae Goes (John), Nancy Cochrane (Buzz) and her many great nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents John and Magna Didriksen, brother Alf Didriksen, sister Edna Brown, sister-in-law Aashild Didriksen, brother-in-law Allan Brown, nephew Gary Brown & great niece Tia Brown.

Born in Norway in 1924 on a family trip, Aunty Jo grew up and spent almost all of her life in the Broughtons. After a short time as a hairdresser in Vancouver, she worked in the woods as a Whistle Punk correspondence school teacher for the Brown & Didriksen families, commercial fishing with her sister Edna and in her own small runabout, greeting guests while looking after the moorage and keeping the ledgers at the marina in Shawl Bay.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends as well as her large extended family of summer visitors.

A memorial celebration of her Life will be held in The Lions Hall, Port McNeill on Sat. Sept 11th at 1pm. The celebration will be followed by snacks and refreshments.
