It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, husband and grandfather Charles Edward “Gopher” Gordon. He lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, September 28, 2007. Ed is predeceased by his father Spencer Charles Gordon, mother Jean Smith, and stepfather Alf Smith (Smitty). He spent his lifetime doing what he loved most, spending time on the water fishing and hunting. Much of his last 3 years of life were spent fixing and perfecting his dream boat “North Island Star” so he could head to the Charlottes with his loving wife Denise. Ed is survived by his wife Denise, his extended family Paul (Carol), Natalie (Jim) Dustin, Braden and Jordon, his sister Elaine (Pete), stepsisters Dixie (Dennis), Lois (Ed), and stepbrother Dennis (Shirley), sons Kane (Sharon), Danny (Sam), and daughter Brenda (Brent), grandsons Cameron, Evan, Adrian and his feline buddies, Fred and Josie.
A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at the Alert Bay Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation. May he rest peacefully in the seas of time.
