Clayton Wilfred Hutchings

HUTCHINGS-Clayton Wilfred, passed away peacefully April 14, 2003 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL after a short battle with cancer. Clayton was born on August 30,1931 in Corner Brook, NL and spent 49 years as a bush pilot in Canada logging over 30,000 hours. His career spanned from Newfoundland/Labrador to British Columbia and all points in between. Clayton flew to live and lived to fly. Clayton was an active community member and participated in Rotary, The Royal Canadian Legion and the Liberal Association. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served as a member of the 2nd Battalion of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Grace; his children Clayton Jr. of Airdrie AB, Cindy Toye(Bruce) of Carstairs AB, and Ian(Tamara)of Halifax NS; and his grandchildren Jamie, Matthew, Danielle and Zackary.

His family and many friends will sadly miss him. A memorial service was held in Corner Brook NL on Thursday April 17,2003. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the charity of ones choice.
