Kazys (Felix) Janulevicius, Oct. 14, 1928 - Nov. 15, 2008
Kazys Janulevicius was born in Onuskis, Lithuania
on October 14, 1928, the youngest of four children
born to Maria and Mykolas Janulevicius.
The end of the war found him separated from his
family until he was reunited with his mother,
brother and sister in Germany. He was in England and Australia until 1954 when he came to Canada. He lived in Brooks where his mother and sister resided and in 1957 moved to Vancouver Island where he began working in the pulp and paper industry. He retired at Port Alice in 1993 after 36 years of service and continued to live in the community until just before his passing from cancer. He was predeceased by his father during the war, his mother in 1975, brother Jerinomas in 1971, brother Adam in 1981 and sister Judy Juska in 1991.
Surviving relatives are his three nephews, Don Juska of
Devon, Alberta, Ray Juska of Brooks, Alberta and John Juska
of Grande Prairie, Alberta and their families.
In many ways an enigma to us, his family in Brooks never
knew when he would blow in to visit (usually in the spring). He stood out for his solitary ways, his “as to say” and his sense of humour. He returned to Brooks to be laid to rest with his mother and his brother Adam. Since his illness we have found that he was well known in Port Alice and had many very good friends on the Island. This realization has been a great comfort to his family here as has been the concern and caring of his BC friends.
We would like to express our gratitude to his caring and
compassionate friends and to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox.
Thank you all! The Juska Families.
