Frances "Fran" Alberta Cameron (Heide)

August 4, 1947-October 15, 2009

Fran entered into rest on October 15 with her family by her side. She leaves to mourn her husband Jim of 44 years and her four sons: Jim (Susan) Cameron of Courtenay, Don (Teresa) Cameron of Courtenay, Tim (Nikki) Cameron of Australia and Dale (Tanya) Cameron of Stoney Plain, Alberta. Also very sad at Grandma’s passing are grandchildren: Shaun, Cory, Kristy, Courtney, Colin, Cole, Aleta, Brooke and Chelsea. Fran is survived by her three sisters: Viola (Bill) Dimery, Janet Hardy, Bernie (Jim) Lowndes and numerous nieces and nephews. Fran was predeceased by her parents Jack and Christina Heide.

Fran was born the youngest of four girls and was raised in Kaslo, BC. She married Jim Cameron and raised their four boys in Cranbrook and Port Hardy. Fran spent many of her years along side of Jim in their family business “Market St. Market”.

Fran was a proud and independent woman and had many interests all of which reflected her creative side, an excellent seamstress, she also crocheted, quilted, knitted and did many crafts. Items were made with love for her family at birthdays and Christmas. Fran and Jim moved to Courtenay in 2000 to be close to their family.

Thank you to Dr. Ptak for looking after Mom over the years and our appreciation goes out to the ambulance attendants, emergency department, ICU and third floor staff for the caring and compassionate care during Mom’s last days.

Fran would appreciate that donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Society of BC in lieu of flowers. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, October 17 for family and friends.

You will always be in our memories.
