George, died October 20, 2008, after a brief illness. Born in Italy on July 24, 1925, George emigrated to Canada in the fifties. He spent the rest of his life forging a new start in the remote wilderness of the Nimpkish Valley on Northern Vancouver Island.
George was a maverick his entire life and will surely be remembered for his bold and courageous endeavours by all who knew him.
George is survived by his five children: Cristina, Guido, Alessio, Dorotea, Michela, and his wife Emidia. Services for George were held Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in Port McNeill at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a memorial that followed.
