Born Oct. 1, 1910; passed away gently and peacefully the evening of March 24 at the Cormorant Island Community Health Centre with close friends and relatives at her side.
She came to Canada from Finland in the early thirties, spent a couple of years in Saskatchewan and lived the rest of her life in Sointula, BC.
Predeceased by her first husband Arvi Pohto in 1960, her son Wilfred Pohto in 1961 and her second husband Veikko Tynjala in 1969. She leaves her son Lennie (Tuula); grandchildren Pamela Moore (Glenn), Susan Pohto (Rick), Brian Pohto (Janet), Michael Pohto; and great grandchildren Ashlynne, Sarrah, Tyler, Melissa, Chelsea and Jonathon plus many friends and relatives both here and in Finland.
The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the doctors, nurses and caregivers at the Cormorant Island Community Health Centre for the loving and excellent care they gave our mother, grandma and mummu in her last years.
