Jacques (Jack) Paul Dewitte aged 79 years passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on December 25, 2021. Lovingly remembered by his wife Sandra-Lynn, daughters Shelley Smith and Sharyl Winebar, grandchildren Andrew, Brandon, and Sara; Laura, Melissa, and Justin, Brother Paul Dewitte (Linda) and nephew Jeffery Dewitte. As well as many relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his father and mother Paul & Andre (nee Hunerbein) Dewitte.
Jack was born in February 1942 in Jabbeke, Belgium. He immigrated with his family in 1947 to North Battleford SK at the age of 5 years. He grew up on a dairy farm where he learned a work ethic that allowed him to become a successful businessman. In his youth, Jack played Jr. hockey with the Estevan Bruins and was top marksman as a cadet in the 1st North Saskatchewan Regiment in Dundurn, SK.
Jack moved to BC to work in the Logging and Road Building industries on the north coast and on northern Vancouver Island. In the mid 1970's Jack opened his business - Anchor Heavy Equipment which he ran successfully for 20 years. He was well known for taking on the impossible jobs. Jack was apart of the team in creating the curriculum for the Heavy Duty Mechanic apprenticeship program. Jack thrived on teaching young mechanics. Jack ended his long career as a Master Mechanic working in Port McNeill, BC.For many years, Jack worked to build his dream home, Silver Ridge in Fort Langley. More recently, Jack & Sandi retired to South Surrey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Southridge Fellowship Church 22756 48th Ave, Langley BC on a date to be determined.
