Kathleen Marie Pringle

December 30, 2003

Pringle, Kathleen (Kay) Marie, nee Garvin, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2003 in Burnaby, BC. Fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family, in whose lives her loving spirit will live on: her daughters and sons-in-law Lorraine and David Hudson, Port Hardy, BC; Louise and Jim Bower, Maple Ridge, BC; and Shanghai, China; grandchildren Kristin Bower, Maple Ridge, BC; Davida Hudson, Port Hardy, BC and Darin Bower (LIsa Hare Bower), Pitt Meadows, BC; great grandchildren Emma Claire and Jack William Bower, Pitt Meadows, BC; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Krisko, Regina, SK; Edna (Al) Roy, Richmond Hill, ON; and Alpha Treen, Amherst, NS; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Bill Pringle and her parents, Agnes and Terrence Garvin, five brothers and seven sisters.

Kay was born in Wentworth Centre, Cumberland County, NS, on April 28, 1915 and moved the following year to Craik, SK, where she lived until 1948. She later resided in Lumsden, Kindersley, Eston and Davidson, SK; Calgary, AB; Kamloops, Port Hardy and Burnaby, BC.

Mom was a proud homemaker, a devoted and doting mother and a beloved grandmother, exemplifying the greatest qualities of each role. Even through the years living with Alzheimer’s, Mom’s good humour and sweet smile graced us and others around her. She was famous for her hugs and kisses.

Kay was a Past Worthy Matron of Eureka Chapter, OES, Davidson, SK, and a member of Adah Chapter, Kamloops, BC. She was a long-time member of the United Church of Canada, serving as a Sunday School teacher, a CGIT leader and a UCW member.

There will be no formal service. If desired, donations in Mom’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

May the road rise up to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back

May the sun shine upon your face

The rains fall soft upon your fields

And, until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His Hand.
