Maurice Charles Gustave Dumonceaux born October 28, 1925 to John & Annie Dumonceaux (Day) in Ponteix Saskatchewan passed away peacefully February 6, 2018 in Campbell River Hospital surrounded by family.
Predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Laurie and daughter Marcelle Lyttle, he is survived by his children Patricia Letourneau, Marc Dumonceaux (Anne), Veronica Rukin (Bob), Diane Daugherty (Richard) and Francis Dumonceaux (Gerry) and numerous, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Maury was the oldest of 14 children and is survived by 8 brothers and sisters. Maury had a full and active life. He and Laurie moved their family to Nimpkish Camp in 1965 where he took a position with Canadian Forest Products.
In 1980 they moved to the Port McNeill area and he retired in 1990. He kept active with the Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and various community projects. His passion was gardening and his many strawberry plants are spread amongst numerous homes in the area.
Family service to be held at St Mary's Catholic Church in Port McNeill, BC April 28, 2018 at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Port McNeill Lions Hall 1:00 pm.
