Clarke, Paul Kelland
August 29, 1948
June 3, 2003
A brave heart and brilliant mind, Paul passed away at Port Hardy Hospital after a brief illness. He was with those he truly loved and is sadly missed by many. Predeceased by his father Paul, he is survived by his mother Isobel, brothers John and Bruce, sister Dale, daughter Sonya, son Vernon and longtime friend, partner Trish. Paul worked for 23 years in the coastal towboat industry. His passion for the sea, the earth and the stars involved him in fishing, logging prospecting in the Yukon, drilling and blasting at Utah Mines and throwing pizzas while studying at Simon Fraser University. Paul had a witty charm, the gift of the gab, intellectual interest in all aspects of life and people. He was accepting, trusting, honest and loyal to his beliefs and many, many friends. He understood well the inspirations and the burdens that describe the human condition. A celebration of Paul’s wonderful spirit will be held at the Airport Inn Pub on Saturday June 14th at 4030 Byng Road, Port Hardy, BC from 1300 hours (1 pm) until over and out.
