Plato Datos of Port McNeill, B.C. passed away on September 10th at Port McNeill Hospital. He was born November 4th, 1938 in Greece.

He came to Canada from Greece as a young man and met his wife of 43 years, Trudy. He became a camp cook in many logging camps in B.C.

Plato ran the restaurant at the Dalewood Inn and after that the Haida-Way Motel. He then opened the family-run restaurant, Plato’s Pizza.

Plato is survived by his wife, Trudy, his two sons, Jody and Dino (Julie) and his two grandchildren, Stevie and Matthew.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19th at the St. John Gualbert Anglican United Fellowship at 1:00 p.m. A gathering will follow at the Lion’s Hall in Port McNeill.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
