December 22, 1963 - February 24, 2009
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Charles Michael Hinton. He was born on his father’s boat the “Berry Island” on December 22, 1963 and passed away February 24, 2009 in Sointula, BC.
Robert was sensitive and caring, a good-natured helpful son, brother and friend.
He loved his family very much, and they will all miss the special interest he took in each of them.
Robert appreciated the values his parents taught him by word and example and followed in their footsteps as a hard worker and eager to lend a hand in times of need. He was eager to please and always there for friends and family.
His physical strength, as documented by his numerous skiff race championships and fearlessness made him a valued partner as a fisherman and workmate.
He was a humble man, had an excellent sense of humor and protective of the ones he loved.
He enjoyed working his father’s land, always with a project on the go and dreaming up the next one.
He loved nature in all its forms, fishing, the farm animals, and his dogs calling them his ‘brothers’; these all lifted his spirits.
Robert is survived by his mother Helga and his sisters Rosemarie, Margaret and Stephanie.
Private scattering at sea ceremony will be held for immediate family.
