Lightfoot, Ronald
Born on September 7, 1930 in Selkirk, Scotland, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2005 at Cowichan District Hospital, Duncan, BC.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Kim (Don) Smith, Shaunne (Mark) Rowbottom, and sons Darrell (Myra) and Sheldon (Donna). He was a loving papa to his grandchildren Dominique and Nicolas, Brayden, Evan, and Megan, Tiffany and TalLynne, Curtis and Alana. He will also be remembered by his sisters Mattie and Kathleen and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada and the Old Country.
Ron moved to Canada in 1952. He met and married Doreen in 1960. They lived in Winnepeg and The Pas, MB, before moving to North Vancouver Island in 1969. After retirement in 1998, Ron and Doreen moved to Duncan, BC.
Ron is now re-united with his wife of 43 years, Doreen, and his parents Lawson and Betsy Lightfoot, and 8 brothers and sisters.
In honour of Ron’s wishes there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation or the charity of one’s choice. Cremation.
