Walter E. Crowther

September 18, 1912-February 3, 2007

Predeceased by his wife Lil, Walt is survived by daughters Renee and Marlene; son Glen; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Walt was just 16 years old when he began his career in the logging industry. He worked up and down the coast where he eventually met his beloved Lil, and they married. He soon had his own logging camp and made a success of it for many years. He semi-retired to Vancouver, but was coaxed into running Wire Rope Industries in a then small logging town of Port McNeill. When he did retire, Walt kept busy with many projects, including his beautiful creations with burls.

He and Lil had many wonderful travels throughout the world. When Lil passed on in 2003, Walt moved to Nanaimo and eventually to Victoria.

A gathering for Walt will be held at Ross Place, 2638 Ross Lane, Victoria at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 10, 2007.
