Wendell Keith (Sab) Davidge

Davidge, Wendell Keith (Sab) - 55, of Sandford, Nova Scotia, former resident of the North Island, passed away on June 6, 2007 at home after a 3 1/2 year struggle with follicular Non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

A historian, teacher, author, actor (and director), Keith had a vast intellectual curiosity, a great sense of humour and a stalwart sense of fairness. He was a student of philosophy, religion, time, sports, history, drama, music,and the sciences who enjoyed aikido and diving. He could discuss John Olerud and Oscar Robertson stats, Chaos theory, John Lennon songs, the American Civil War, and build a cabin or corduroy road if one was needed. Keith grew up in New Brunswick and had degrees from UNB and the University of Maine (Presque Isle). He had a variety of work experiences from the Port Alice pulp mill and fish farms in British Columbia to teaching all grades and subjects in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

Keith is survived by his wife of 15 years, Heather Jones; his father Robert Davidge, Moncton, NB; brothers, Jim (Enid), Medicine Hat, AB; Doug (Jane), Ottawa, ON; and Brock (Karen), Keswick Ridge, NB; and several cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be deeply missed by his in-laws: Wayne and Janet Parker, Fredericton, NB; Chris (Ronda) Jones, Toronto, ON; and Stephen (Melissa) Jones, Nauwigewauk, NB. He was predeceased by his mother Dorothy Davidge and sister Lynn.

Keith wanted to thank everyone who helped him in his battle against cancer, particularly Dr. David Webster. He also wanted to extend his gratitude to all those who accompanied him on his journey. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeney’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Internment took place in Sanford on June 15.
