PORT McNEILL - Broughton Curling Club will host its annual mixed open bonspiel as originally scheduled, beginning Friday at 7 p.m.
In a story in Thursday's print edition of the Gazette, club officials had announced the bonspiel would be postponed due to a lack of teams. But more entries arrived, and the mixed open was placed back on the schedule for this weekend.
"We've got 14 teams," said Mike Balcke, one of the organizers.
Two draws will be played Friday evening. The bonspiel will continue throughout the day Saturday, and finals are scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday.
The lounge will be open throughout and a concession is also available for participants and spectators.
