Glenn Moore of the Hyde Creek Hillbillys comes back to earth after being tagged out by Port Hardy Cubs catcher Chris Lamothe during the teams' semifinal game Saturday in the North Vancouver Island Baseball League playoffs. The teams play at 1 p.m. Sunday for the league title.

HYDE CREEK - Taylor Galeazzi hit two home runs and robbed Port Hardy's Chris Lamothe of a potential game-tying hit at the fence in left-center field Saturday as the Hyde Creek Hillbillys went on to an 8-1 semifinal win over the Cubs in North Vancouver Island Baseball League play at the local ballpark.

Port Hardy bounced back with a 12-6 win over the Port McNeill Rangers in Saturday's elimination contest and earned a rematch with the Hillbillys in today's 1 p.m. championship final.

Sunday's final will conclude with awarding of the league trophy and naming of the 2011 MVP.

Admission to the season finale is free, and the concession grill will be cooking, with proceeds to benefit the Hyde Creek Recreation Society.
