PORT HARDY—Don Cruickshank Memorial Arena hosted its final games of the season last weekend as the commercial hockey leagues wrapped up.
On Friday the A league closed out the season with a 7-4 Warriors victory over the Bulls.
Tied 3-3 at the end of the first period, the Warriors came out the brighter in the second and raced away to a 6-3 lead before the Bulls found a consolation goal late in the period.
Eddie Walkus, Cole Morton and Shelby Cockell got two apiece in the victory for the Warriors, with Jake Colbourne adding the other goal.
Steve Verbrugge netted twice for the Bulls, with Richard Burgess and Barney Wilson adding one each.
Sunday saw the final game of the B season as the Mainline topped the Rookies 5-4 as the teams made the most of the ice time, squeezing out a seven-minute third period before the clock ran out.
Two goals each from Jeff Cowles and Richard Knopp combined with Janey Henschke's solo effort to give the Mainline the win while Tony Knighton, Jeff Badger, and Mitch Nelson found the net for the Rookies.
