Port McNeill - Lee Mitchell used a three-point pickup in the seventh end to blunt the comeback of Ed Symons and claim the A final of the annual Broughton Curling Club mixed open bonspiel Sunday in Port McNeill.
Mike Balcke, representing the host club, was aided by a five-point end in winning the B final over Port Hardy's John Magay. The Port McNeill rink of Trevor Waddell held off a big late charge by Port Hardy's Dave Bjornson to win the C final.
